Midterms

Even some teacher's dont agree.  What IS the point of midterms?  I quote one of my teachers, "You've taken a unit test on it, why do we have to quiz you again?"  Do we really have to sit in a classroom for an hour and a fifty-five minutes and wait for it to be over?
The ones that always take the longest are usually the ones that you think will be easier (English, History, ect) but no, those are the ones that take almost the entire time.  I mean really?!  Is having students take an 130 question test twice a day for four days a really good idea?  I know im complaining and everything, but its true!
And how long do we have to wait for our grades back?  I mean, teachers I give you credit and everything for making a really long test and grading over a hundred of them, but still.
So now we sit and wait for our terrible grades to come back.  Fun...  And the while point is to make sure you retain information from like 5 months ago (which we dont) but after making sure we memorize everything AGAIN, we will forget it in about a month.
So is it really worth stressing over to forgot it soon anyway?  Not really.  I've been freaking out these past two weeks making sure I have everything etched into my mind (which I still dont) and some tests end up to be a lot easier than planned.  So we freak out over nothing.  I finished my earth systems one in 30 minutes, algebra in an hour, and spanish in an hour and a half.  I mean, I didn't need the entire time, but i know some people do.
  So, midterms.  The point is...?
